Women OutLoud! - Friday, February 27

Insight Arts is proud to feature author Mary Anne Mohanraj at Women Out Loud! a women and women-identified open mic series on February 27, from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Center for New Possibilities, 1505 W. Morse.
Mary Anne Mohanraj is the author of BODIES IN MOTION, Sri Lankan-American linked stories (HarperCollins) and nine other titles. BODIES IN MOTION was a finalist for the Asian-American Book Awards and has been translated into six languages. She teaches creative writing and Asian American literature at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University, and has received an Illinois Arts Council Fellowship in Prose. Mohanraj is Executive Director of both DesiLit (www.desilit.org), which supports South Asian and diaspora literature, and the Speculative Literature Foundation (www.speclit.org). www.maryannemohanraj.com
Women Out Loud is the longest-running open mic in Chicago for women and women-identified writers. As always, men may applaud and cheer. $5 suggested donation, $3 for open mic participants.
The CENTER FOR NEW POSSIBILITIES located at 1505 W Morse Avenue, is a space coordinated by Insight Arts, a contemporary arts organization dedicated to increasing access to cultural work that supports progressive social change.
